Intro

Hello everyone! I am here to talk a little bit to you about something big that I've been working on for the last few months. Over the last 7 months, I have been hard at work developing a fictional voice drama for my final bachelor's degree project in audio production, courtesy of Edinburgh College and the Kingston School of Art. I have been directing, recording, editing, mixing, and everything for this project, and I've been working with some exceptional acting students who've supplied voices for the characters. While this was originally a project for my college course it's also something very personal and dear to my heart. I have been writing this story since 2018 and I've been heavily fantasising about it becoming real, but never really took the initiative to find how I can publish it. I also had the issue of how I wanted to use my audio production skills for my own stuff as well as work, then I got an idea. I saw this professional project as the perfect chance to bring my story to life by turning it into an audio drama, which is now something that I dream of pursuing after I leave college.

About The Production

The production is based on a contemporary fantasy story I've been writing for a while called "Chronean Archives", and this podcast is only the beginning of the full story. In this 3-part pilot of the story, we take a look at the beginning of the main character's story and set the stage for a coming adventure filled with fantasy, action, comedy, drama, romance, and much more. I'm aiming to release the production on my YouTube channel on Wednesday, May 8th 2024 at 12pm. Make sure to keep updated and come along to listen when it's released; it would seriously mean the world to me!

Story Plot

"Set in Chronea, a faraway place of magic and monsters, we meet Noella Hendri, an introverted teenager who's deeply insecure about her "weak" magic. All she wants is to get through her final day of middle school without any problems. But on top of a devastating encounter with the school bully, a weird dream and a ghostly voice calling to her won't let her rest. Even after all the turmoil that's been constantly thrown at her, a fateful encounter helps her to realize the importance of self-confidence, allowing her to begin the journey to find her inner strength."

Voice Cast

The production features the voices of some talented acting students, and they have been so wonderful to work with. They've been amazing about lending their voices to my characters and they've seriously put their all into this project. When you listen to the show, please give them some love in the comments and make sure to check out their social media links too!

Afterword

This has been a most incredible experience for me. This was my first ever time doing something this crazy and out of my comfort zone, and I'm super grateful to be able to have the chance to make it using the high-quality resources and teachings from the college. I want to thank everyone at the college and Kingston for all their guidance, as I was finally able to achieve a big dream thanks to your help. I also want to thank the voice actors as well. I'm so grateful to them for their time, passion, and dedication to the project. And with that, I thank you for reading this article. I hope you enjoy the show!
